BBC ticker

The BBC have finally made the new version of the news ticker available. It’s been a cross-making few months with no ticker for me since my last computer crashed and burned.

    I found myself in Oxford this weekend for the first time in about 10 years. It seemed as though there were rather more homeless men on the streets than there used to be. (OK, technically what I observed was a number of scruffy-looking men wearing more clothes than one might expect given the weather, lying on the ground / a bench / whatever with a cheap holdall as a pillow.)

    Am I imagining it, or is this a real rise in homelessness?

    I don’t know about a rise, but certainly we have a problem in Oxford - the worst in the country outside London.
