Ahem

It appears that I have won the Bloggers4Labour award for best blog by an elected representative. Thanks for that, folks! Very flattering. Though, as Stuart points out, it’s not really as though this is a true councillor-blog. After all, I don’t really post about my ward or the bin collection (though that may change when the bi-weekly collection is rolled out to Rose Hill and causes chaos…) I’m never convinced that many people in Rose Hill actually read this blog, though I know that fellow councillors, council officers and local journos do. /waves

The key audience for my old councillor blog were active members of community and resident groups. At least one or two people from every group read my blog - as did officers, journalists and community leaders (vicars, voluntary sector officers etc). There is no other way I could have let them all know what I was up to. They would then talk about it in the community spreading it even further. It was never meant to have a massive audience, but it was extremely effective.

    p.s. Congratulations.

Ooh, well done there. It says ‘by’, not ‘about being’, so you’re completely in the clear, I’d reckon! Well, on checking it says ‘of an’, but same goes.

Well, you’re the closest blogging councillor to me, being in Florrie Park as I am :) Well done!
